LEARN BY SIM - some things just can't be taught from books and lectures.

PART 2

This will occur in the morning.  This will include an assessment, but only after we have taught you the skills you will need.

*Skills training and assessment.

-This will mainly focus on how to insert IV cannulas.

-Where to insert them.

_How to secure them.

-Alternatives.

PART 3

Practice IV cannulation on manikins with our experienced trainers right beside you.

Here you get to demonstrate to us some of the skills we have taught you.

This is the other fun bit and I feel the most important part.  This interactive part of the course, led by a qualified RN trainer (Darren Apps), is where I believe the most learning occurs.  Right now the small amount of stress induced in nearly all people who participate in a sim, will prime your brain, making it ready to accept and retain knowledge.

Discussion and questions will be encouraged.

A certificate will be issued at the end of this session to all participants who pass the course.  In the extremely unlikely event that some unforeseen problem occurs and you fail the course eg you cannulate the manikin's eyeball, then  we will provide you with a free session at a later date.
